
IMTA = Ijin Memperkerjakan Tenaga Asing (Work Permit). It is the only legal authorisation given to a company to employ a foreigner. If an expatriate does not hold an IMTA, they are considered illegal in Indonesia
IMTA requires:
- Proof of an education relevant to the position the expat will hold
- A certificate of competence or work experience of at least five years in a position relevant to the position
